lydia is under a terrible curse. allison knows how to cure it.
zari saved diego's life. diego is honorbound to return the favor.
diego is about to do something stupid. laurel does not think this is a good idea.
There's a moment after the calm of a fight where you exhale, take a breath and take stock of your success. You revel in the satisfaction of a job well done. This is what you were built for.
And then all the pain hits.
This fight is particularly bad. One of the goons got a slice across his side that really comes back to get him. He let's out a muffled sound of pain that only increases when Damon claps him on the back.
"Walk it off, brother."
"We're gonna take a nap, right?" He glances from Damon over to Rebekah. "Maybe a meal?"
And then all the pain hits.

Rebekah dusts off her hands, glad that the fight was over. It had been more challenging then they expected, and Stefan had taken a lot of of the blows. She knows that's part of his job as the fighter in the group but she worries all the same.
She takes a step cloer to him, to get a better look at that injury.
"We should take a nap. You need one."
Klaus rolls his eyes a little. He's noticed his sister's affection for their companion. "You coddle him sister, we should keep moving."
As one of the hardest flameouts in Brakebills history, Sam Winchester doesn't spend a lot of time with other students beyond his reputation. Rumor has it he was one of the most promising students Brakebills had seen in a while, before his girlfriend died in a fire and he split town.
Some say he did it. Some say he's trying to hunt down who didn't. Regardless he went off the map for a few years until he started to build more of a reputation in hedge circles. He's where you go when you need a favor, and if you do owe him a favor, it's one you want cleared as soon as possible, before things wind up getting too creative.
In the case of Alice Quinn, Sam owes her a favor - more specifically, Sam owes Kady a favor, and Kady is giving it to Alice. Alice also is rather famous around Brakebills circles, and Sam still does have some friends in those areas. But he wants to see her for himself.
Because if whatever she wants is enough to get Kady to spend her leverage over him, it has to be good. He meets her at a local coffee shop and approaches with a smile.

Stefan takes a deep breath for another stab of pain and can't help the glare in Klaus' direction. Given the hits he took for him earlier, you would think he'd be a little more grateful. But fine, fine. They should keep moving.

Laurel skids across the floor, sliding to put herself between Diego and the door. She knows that his father is a hot-button issue. She knows that whatever he's about to do about the information she gave him, about what Cisco found in the pocket dimension on the other side of Hotel Obsidian.
But she doesn't think it's a good idea - at least not right now. Not going in alone, not going in angry.

Laurel skids across the floor, sliding to put herself between Diego and the door. She knows that his father is a hot-button issue. She knows that whatever he's about to do about the information she gave him, about what Cisco found in the pocket dimension on the other side of Hotel Obsidian.

Lydia stands on the edge of the shore, toes deep in the sand, watching as the waves crest and crash down, but inexplicably part around her feet. She wasn't supposed to be out of the ocean this long. She intended to spend a few days with Allison, and then head back to the ocean again.
But every time she goes near the water, it parts away from her, like it's scared of her. This would be curious, even interesting, if it wasn't keeping her from going home.
Eventually she steps back towards where Allison is standing, and frowns. "It's not supposed to do that."

Zari sets off on the path that heads to Nicodranas, planning to find another ship now that her brother has taken up her spot on the Waverider. She had another lead, but she's likely missed that ship leaving port at this point.
Not that she regrets the delay - the person involved probably would have died without cleric intervention - but most berths on ships are first come, first serve.
She sticks to the road, planning to continue on the path to the city and hope for the best when she gets the sense that something - or someone - may be following her. She clenches the straps of her backpack, starting to pick up speed and see if there's somewhere she can duck off the road and lose them. When she realizes she's still being followed, she starts to gather some electricity around her fingers, ready to launch into an attack, but as she spins and realizes she recognizes him, she makes a noise of surprise, before letting the spell fizzle.

Sitting and sunbathing is nice. She's a bit like a cat where she will one hundred percent take a nap in the sun if given the opportunity, and a beach can be a good place to do that. If she gets a sunburn she'll heal. It's fine.
What she doesn't like is the crowds, and the ocean and sharks. She can fight a lot of things but fighting sharks on their own turf would have her at a distinct disadvantage.
Still, Tyler's friends invited them out, and it was a good day, considering who they were spending time with. They played volleyball and Malia talked more with Bonnie and Elena and Caroline and she still doesn't think they like her but there was maybe about fifty percent less passive aggressiveness. Progress.

Eventually they leave Italy and come back to Mystic Falls. Stefan had left town in his grief and it was safe. Or as safe as it was going to be. Tyler still isn't sure his friends are glad he's alive instead of Damon but he's trying. He doesn't have any family left, they're all he has.
He was glad Matt came. Someone he knew was glad he was alive. It was more complicated with the girls. Maybe it always would be now, but at least they seem to be trying to give Malia a chance. It's something.
The beach feels nostalgic, a reminder of a simpler time before vampires and family curses. When everybody else heads in he stays out to watch the sunset. It's nowhere near the full moon, so he doesn't have to worry. When Malia comes out he smiles.
"It has it's charms. I'm glad you came with us."
Theft is not the kind of crime Diego usually goes after. He could give a shit less about things, he's more concerned about keeping people safe. But Bela has been sniffing around the Academy and considering the kind of things his father owned -- well that was concerning.
It's a starlit night when he catches her outside. He's surprised she's been so sloppy casing the place. Or maybe she wanted to be caught. One of the two. He has his knives at the ready but he doesn't throw them yet.
"Tell me why I shouldn't just throw these at you and be done with it."
To want something of Reginald's means she has to be desperate, and that tugs at something in him, even if he hates to admit it.
"Me too."
It was good to try and have Tyler see his friends again, even if it's still messy. Meeting Elena for the first time had been strange, given that she's the one who killed Damon, but it went better than she expected. Or maybe Elena's just really good at sucking it up and not making a scene.
"Elena's really nice. Now that she's awake and not sleeping in a coffin all the time."
It was good to try and have Tyler see his friends again, even if it's still messy. Meeting Elena for the first time had been strange, given that she's the one who killed Damon, but it went better than she expected. Or maybe Elena's just really good at sucking it up and not making a scene.

Secretly, he's kind of glad Elena is free of the Salvatores, even if it's because Malia killed Damon. She deserves a life outside of them again. He hopes she can find it.
Bela holds up her hands, not wanting to provoke him. She hadn't realized the Hargreeves children were back in town, and that's her mistake. She hasn't even really had time to develop her cover story, so winging it, it is.
"Easy, tiger." She tips her head to the side as she tries to get a better look at him in the darkness. Diego. Number Two. Right. "Mostly because I didn't really take you as the bloodthirsty type. A bit much to stab someone for looking in a window, yeah?"

Malia will take his word for it. It does surprise her that Elena would date such assholes, but Derek's dated at least two women who tried to murder him, so apparently it's a failing some people have.
"And Caroline was way less passive aggressive this time. Maybe they just needed time to process it all."

"Caroline defaults to passive aggressiveness sometimes, and it's probably hard on her that Stefan left. But I'm glad they're being nicer. They've forgiven people for worse."
Is there a slight bitterness to that tone, maybe? Tyler will always struggle with the fact that Caroline forgave Klaus after everything he did, after killing his mom.
She's right is the thing. Diego isn't bloodthirsty. He's not the murderous type of his family, really. But he wanted to seem intimidating. Be a threat that she would worry about.
"Considering what lies beyond the window, I'm not sure I'm overreacting."
