bo & kenzi's } { be what you will and then throw down your life

Kenzi is out with Hale. Dyson is busy with cop things. Trick has the Dal, Lauren is taking care of something for the Ash, and Bo is at home on her couch, with a giant tub of ice cream. To say that her evening is low key? Probably an overstatement.

She doesn't have a case. There's no looming threat to the Fae. As far as she's concerned, her life is pretty awesome right now. That's not something most people would say about a night on the couch with a tub of ice cream, but for Bo, this was heaven.

She's about to tune in for another episode of a crappy reality show she didn't know the name of feet propped up on the coffee table, when there's a knock at the door. She should have known that it was too good to be true. She sighs, reaching behind the couch, before placing her swords down on the table. Then she picks up on her spoon again.

"It's open!"

It's taken Tyler a few days to finally cave, so to speak. Trying to do this all on his own has been proving to be harder than he expected...and she had made it sound like she had experience in working on some weird cases. So it couldn't hurt to explore his options, right?

Which was why he was at her door, knocking.

When he hears her words, he lets himself in, closing the door behind him.

"You said I could stop by whenever."

[dontkanyeme]

She pauses in the shoveling of the ice cream into her mouth, before leaning forward to get a better look at who it was. When she saw that it was Tyler, she smiles, before pushing herself to her feet.

"Hey," she nods. "I'm glad you came."

[lockwood]

He nods a little. He feels awkward, asking for help isn't something he's very good at, even now.

"I think maybe I was wrong. This isn't something I can just do alone."

The Fae aren't very good at asking for help either. Not when they really need it. That doesn't mean they don't come around eventually, and she's glad that Tyler did.

"Have a seat," she says, pushing some of Kenzi's stuff out of the way to clear a space. "Can I get you anything?"

[lockwood]

He nods, making his way over to sit on the couch. "Some water would be good." At least it'll give him a chance to stall a little more.

"Coming right up." She picks up the tub of ice cream, putting it away in the freezer before pouring him a glass of water.

"How's finding yourself going?"

[lockwood]

"Not as well as I hopes," He admits with a small shrug of his shoulders. "Kind of why I'm here."

She makes her way back over to hand him the glass, before settling on the couch next to him. "How can I help?"

[lockwood]

"I'm not sure," He admits. "But I don't think I can do it myself."

[dontkanyeme]

"Okay." she takes a breath, before resettling to get a bit more comfortable. "Let's start at the beginning."

[lockwood]

"Well, about a year ago, I accidentally triggered the werewolf gene, that's kind of when everything started." He pauses, wondering how she'll respond. If this is really the sort of thing she expected to hear

People turning into wolves because of genetics? Totally covered. She barely even blinks at the fact that he's a werewolf, but she didn't know it was something that had to be triggered. Dyson never mentioned anything like that, which could mean that they're too different things.

"Wolf shifter or werewolf?" She just wants to be sure.

[lockwood]

"Werewolf." As far as Tyler knows, there isn't anything like wolf shifters. Just werewolves.

[dontkanyeme]

Okay. That's new. But not so new that she couldn't roll with it.

"Do you do the whole full moon rabid beast no control thing?"

[lockwood]

"I used to." And now there's the next part. "There's this guy, Klaus. He's one of the Original Vampires -- and also a hybrid. Half vampire, half werewolf."

[dontkanyeme]

Vampires. Vampires are a little more familiar, but from the way he's talking, the guy he's dealing with isn't a bottom feeder like Siegfried.

"So he basically was a werewolf that was turned?"

[lockwood]

"Something like that. Basically, he's the only one who can make other hybrids." He'll skip over the curse and other blood issues. "I was his first successful one."

[dontkanyeme]

"So basically this guy turned you into a vampire-werewolf hybrid. It take it that wasn't exactly an upgrade?"

[lockwood]

"It came with a price. My free will. We were bonded in a way that if he gave a command, I had to follow it."

[dontkanyeme]

And now Bo is going to help whether Tyler likes it or not. Free will is pretty important, as far as she's concerned. She wouldn't be in the position she was without it.

"So you need to break it." Because it isn't even a question that that's what he's going to do. "Is it a matter of finding out how?"

[lockwood]

"I think I know how." At least, he really hopes Caroline's dad was right about all this. "The whole sire bond thing is based on gratefulness. As a werewolf, the transformations were incredibly painful, and when I was made a hybrid, I didn't have to turn anymore. To break the bond, I have to force myself to turn until it doesn't hurt anymore."

[dontkanyeme]

"Of course. It all comes down to pain and suffering, doesn't it?" She's not amused. But that doesn't mean it can't be done. People are resilient when it comes to the important things. "Have you started? With the transformations?"

[lockwood]

He nods a little. "In a cave, a little outside of the city, away from people. But it's hard, doing it by myself. Harder than I expected."

[dontkanyeme]

"So you need someone to have your back." Which Bo is more than capable of doing. "I think I can handle that."

[lockwood]

"You sure?" He asks, surprised she agreed so easily. "It's not going to be pretty."
