[Bela regrets the day she met Holland Manners every day. She was fourteen years-old when she signed her name on the dotted line, and she's lived in the care of Wolfram and Hart ever since. She lives so long as she does what she's told. She doesn't do as she's told, she dies. She dies, she goes to Hell.

That's the incentive to stay alive and do as she's told.

They trained her, groomed her, and now she's their perfect little thief. Most of the work she does is for Holland, who disgusts her and makes her want to strangle him every time she sees him, but today she's directed to a different office for a name she doesn't recognize. She saunters her way in, looking over the desk. She's trained to look her over things, find the inconspicuous, but so far there's nothing.

She always has liked a challenge.]

[Lilah's worked her way up the ladder at Wolfram and Hart rather quickly. She's now co-vice president of special projects (and if she has her way? she'll be shoving Lindsey out of the competition any day now) and she's fought tooth and nail to get this far from the day Holland Manners recruited to her at the firm.

The con is a simple one, set up an event while stealing from a charity. But no one knows stealing and cons better than Bela Talbot. Which is why Lilah's requested her help on it.

She smiles as the woman enters her office.]

You must be Bela.

[Bela looks up from the file she's currently reading over, and raises an eyebrow as she looks over the woman's dress.]

And you must be Lilah.

[She stands up from her desk to make her way to the other woman, offering out her hand.]

It's an honor to finally meet you. Holland's told me quite a bit about you.

[Bela eyes her apprehensively, before shaking her hand.]

I'm sure he has.

[but how much of it is true is the question.]

Please, sit down. [She lets go of Bela's hand before walking back to her desk, sitting down herself.]

[Bela does as requested, crossing her legs as she does.]

So. What am I stealing?

It's a long job, actually. We plan on running a banquet in order to steal money off a local charity

That seems like a simple matter of bribing the right accountants. What do you need me for?

Hardly. I've told you're good at conning people, getting them to agree with things without even realize what's really going on.

[she is good at that. Doesn't necessarily like it, but she is good.]

So you want me to convince them to "donate" more?

[succubitch]

Of course. While helping hide it from the girl who runs the charity.

Sounds easy enough.

It should be, all things considered.

Is there a certain goal you'd like me to aspire to?

At the moment? Not particularly. Consider this a trial run.

Exactly. Not that I don't trust Holland's words, but I want to see for myself.

[Bela isn't amused with the idea of having to prove herself, but ... whatever.]

[Lilah imagines she is, but she likes to see results for herself.]

[Lilah digs into her pocket before pulling out a silver credit card.]

[ ... well, she can't say this doesn't have it's perks. She takes the card and nods.]
