something about lonely nights and the lipstick on your face | wynonna

When Peter came into the office and told Neal they were going on a field trip, Purgatory was not what he had in mind. Peter's aware of this, and has proceed to tease him the entire time.
It's not that Neal is opposed to Purgatory, necessarily, but it's not really his style. Small towns have a way of making you stand out, especially when you're wearing clothes that are probably worth more than most of them make in a year. Still, this is where the case led them, and it's the first time he's actually left the state in literal years, so he's not complaining.
Much.
He has to say, if he was a criminal on the run from the FBI, Purgatory wouldn't be a bad place to lay low. It is literally the last place anyone would look for him.
They make their way into the sheriff's department and Neal immediately has his eye on the redheaded deputy, just by virtue of his being Neal, completely unaware that this is another Diana situation. It's mostly because he probably couldn't not flirt with someone, even if he tried. He is fairly certain he's just being friendly, leaning over the lip of her desk and asking what would probably be considered insightful questions about Purgatory while Peter talks with the Sheriff about getting permission for the FBI to do their thing.
Jurisdictions and all that. He would much rather be talking to Deputy Haught, which is why it's a good thing that he is, until the door to the sheriff's office swings open with a bang.

i finally remembered to tag into this
But then she spots the handsome man trying to flirt with Nicole and she smirks a little.
"Sorry dude, this girl only likes eating tacos, not hot dogs."
Nicole glares at her. "Wynonna."
She smirks. "What? It's true. Waverly would be proud of me for making sure no one was trying to steal her woman."

And while Wynonna's brashness is a bit more than Neal is used to, that isn't going to stop him from having some manners. He pushes up and adjusts his suit before extending a hand to her.
"Neal Caffrey."
no subject
She takes his hand, squeezing it tightly as she shakes it -- probably more tightly than she needs to.
"You're with the FBI?"
no subject
In order to avoid going back to jail so hey. Something he and Wynonna have in common.
no subject
Black Badge doesn't....really exist anymore but hopefully they don't know that.
no subject
"Oh, you'll have to take that up with the actual FBI agent. I'm just here to look pretty."
And then he'll smile, because he is pretty.
no subject
"I'm pretty too."
And to prove that, she'll flip him off before turning to Nicole.
"Good thing his sort of pretty isn't to your taste, right? Otherwise I might be worried."
Nicole looks annoyed, rolling her eyes a little. She does not get paid enough to deal with Wynonna, sometimes.
"Right. Because I'd be totally swayed by the first pretty girl who walks in. That does sound like me."
no subject
"Is she always this charming?"
no subject
Wynonna would have quipped back at that but she's already made her way over to where Peter and Nedley are talking.
no subject
Neal, on the other hand, is just going to keep chatting up Nicole because he's a nice, friendly person. "Really? Hopefully we won't be staying long enough to see it."
no subject
Somehow, Wynonna's words don't sound reassuring.
Nicole smirks slightly at Neal. "Don't bet on that. She might take that as a challenge."
no subject
Peter's trying to keep this tone is congenial as possible. He doesn't really know why he has to justify himself to this woman, but he's here to play nice.
no subject
Nedley gives Peter a sympathetic look as if to say, If you argue with her, this will only take longer.

"I wasn't aware that the marshals had an interest in white collar crime. Why don't you give me your badge number - I'll get in touch with your superiors and get you added to the case."
