1. Pick one of yours.
2. Pick one of mine or ask me to surprise you.
3. Pick a starter. (You can also ask me to surprise you here too, and I'll RNG it.)
4. Profit.

Fen glances over briefly, uncertain, before turning her eyes straight ahead again.]
I thought this world could be quite dangerous. Don't they allow you to carry the appropriate weaponry to protect yourself?

[especially when it comes to knives as big and as sharp as fen's are.]
Though Margo seems to always have a gun on her, so she might be able to tell you more.

It's hard to tell whether or not these are nicer than prison cells at home. The accommodations are not the same.

"The rules are less barbaric....at least most of the time. Depends on who you are, really."
But hopefully they won't be here too long. Kady and Margo, among others, are already trying to wrangle bail money.
Hopefully they won't have to rob a bank again.

"Is it a matter of nobility? I know the courts aren't the same here, but nobles tend to get away with more in Fillory."

This time, she strides in with purpose, one hand covering her eyes just in case his moping about his Zari has led to her seeing things she doesn't want to see. She strides forward, finding the edge of his bed, and tapping it lightly with her foot to get his attention.
"Nate, wake up. We've got places to go and witches to interrogate."

"What's this about witches?"

She yelled at Constantine until he gave her an option to fix it.
She briefly peeks out from behind her hand to make sure he's at least semi-decent in the place she can see, before lowering it and explaining.
"I've been talking to John about our ... situation, and he says he doesn't know what spell to use, but he may know some people who might be able to help. So we're going to New York to see if we can convince them to do that."

At her words his heart leaps in his chest, as much as he doesn't want. it to, because he knows how much hope can hurt in the end, that sometimes, no matter how hard you love someone, there's no way to keep what you have. He wants to believe there's a way to save Zari, his Zari, because she deserves more than living in a totem but....
Sometimes to save the ones you love, you have to sacrifice. He had respected her choice, like he had with Amaya.....but if there's a way to save her....
He gets up quickly inspite of himself. "He thinks they might know a way to save her?"

They definitely seem like out of town types, which is never a good sign, necessarily, when it comes to Purgatory. In fact, one of them happens to look like the kind of type that would usually scream "revenant" if Waverly didn't know better. She watches them carefully, eyes scanning each of the individual faces, until the crowd parts and one face she does recognize steps through. Her eyes widen as she straightens to get a better look.
"Oh my god, Nate?" She then pushes up on her toes and once she does see that handsome face, she can help but grin and shout a little louder. "Nate!!"

That's way different than someone like Ghengis Khan.
But this does mean he gets to see his favorite Earp, someone he hasn't seen since college, and that's very exciting.
"Waverly!"
He runs up to her and wraps his arms around her picking her up in a big ol' bear hug because hey, that's something he can do now.
"I was hoping you would be in town."

"What are you doing here? You should have called I would have made room down at the homestead."

Which sounds vague but how does he explain that he hangs out with a bunch of time travelers now???

Kady doesn't normally speak ill of the dead, but the fact that she is driving out into the middle of fucking nowhere because of a goddamn favor she owed a dead man is really really annoying. She's also annoyed at Jeremy, who decided to co-opt this dead man's favor for his own benefit, but Jeremy isn't the one who manipulated her into the favor in the first place.
And if him invoking it means Kady finally gets to be free and clear of Black Badge's shadow, then she's here for it.
She also brought Julia. For the main reason that walking into the Ghost River Triangle to talk to a Black Badge agent (even a former one) without backup is a bad plan. Julia's incredibly curious nature worked in Kady's favor on that one, and the change in power and the hum of magic in the air only further proves that this place is dangerous. But that also means that there's more answers to uncover.
They park in front of Shorty's not long after, eyeing the bar with a bit of skepticism before making their way inside. The bar is mostly empty - standard operating procedure for this time of day, she assumes - but there's already a brunette at the bar. Jeremy isn't late, if anything, Kady and Julia are early, but the sooner Kady can get started and get out of here, the better.
She makes her way closer and taps the woman on the shoulder.
"Hey. Do you know where I could find Jeremy Chetri?"
no subject
"Probably watching the newest season of Queer Eye -- or doing his science shit, I don't really know." It's probably actually the later but Wynonna can't help but be snarky. And then she turns to look at the two women suspiciously.
She doesn't generally take well to outsiders.
"Who are you guys."
Julia tries to take this one, since she knows Kady can be testy herself.
"I'm Julia Wicker -- and this is Kady Orloff-Diaz. She was a friend of Dolls."
Friend is probably a stretch, but it has the desired effect, softening Wynonna's expression a little.
"Well, if you're looking for him, you're a little late."
no subject
And she does, to her credit, sound a little sad about that. Dolls was a good man, even if he was also a blackmailing asshole.
"But Jeremy called in one of Dolls' old favors. So that's why we're here. If you could just ... point us in the right direction, we'll be out of your hair."
no subject
Wynonna had also been on the side of his blackmailing, but it all had worked out for the best, got her to where she is now.
She grabs her phone to text Jeremy before responding.
"He's apparently on his way, so you might as well wait it out here."

“Why are you helping me?”

Kady looks over at Diego like he's being stupid. He's gotten himself in over his head with the magic community, and Kady's stepped up to find a way to dig him out. Because she's a good friend.
"Because if that's the case, I have way better things I could be doing right now."
no subject
Diego's not used to people wanting to help him without strings attached. Trust is hard...but he also knows shit all about this magic stuff.
"I didn't say that."
no subject
"Look, if there's a hedge going rogue and causing problems for non-magical people, then that's something that needs to be resolved. The hedges are my people so I'm responsible. So I'll help you. And if you don't like those reasons, you're welcome to get help elsewhere, but I think it would be less counter-intuitive if we work together."
Seth
“I’ve been waiting a long time.”
Those are Seth's first words when she comes back to the Homestead where he's been holding down the fort with Nicole, Rachel, and Kate. Well, she has to evade an execution before they really get the chance to talk, but eventually he heads out to her new barn bedroom to talk to her.
She shrugs...unsure of what to say. She's surprised he's still here. He looks better than the last time. Cleaner. That's probably Nicole's doing. No way she'd let him stay a junkie around two kids.
"I didn't realize we were going to be going on Narnia rules."
no subject
Coparentingliving with Nicole hasn't always been the easiest. Putting a Lawful Good and Chaotic Neutral in the same space is never going to be a good time. But he's stuck it out for the girls, and he stuck it out out of the hope that Wynonna would reappear eventually. He and Nicole might even be friends now. They're certainly a better team. He leans against a nearby support beam, sliding his hands in his pockets as he looks her over.
"I don't think any of us did." He pauses, before changing the subject. "You okay?"
no subject
Wynonna is honestly surprised neither Seth nor Nicole killed one another -- and is glad he stuck around. Not that she's good at saying stuff like that.
"I mean, the whole town tried to kill me for a crime I didn't commit -- so it's par for the course for Purgatory, really."
no subject
Seth honestly isn't sure what to make of the Clantons. They swooped in when the town had a vacuum to fill, and they set down roots that he can already see are going bad places.
But he also knows enough to know that Cleo and Holt aren't the ones pulling the strings.
"I've been doing my best to stay off their radar, but I guess that doesn't help when another plane of existence drops you right into the middle of shit a year and a half later."
Which still sounds ... so strange to say. But this is his life now, apparently.
