"It does." Diego has made a point of knowing where most things are in this building -- as much as he possibly can anyways. The hotel does seem to like it's secrets.
Malia nods, before moving around to grab the shoulders. "I've got this end. You get the ankles?" She's strong enough to probably throw the body over her shoulder and carry it herself, but she doesn't want him doing none of the work.
He doesn't mean it to be insulting or sexist or anything, but Diego is stronger than most people he knows, Luther being an exception, and he doesn't realize she has powers too.
"Do you want my help or not? Because if you'd rather do this all by yourself, I can go."
She'll wait. She doesn't need you impugning her ability to do things. Though Malia does forget sometimes that people have certain perceptions of women that look like her, and don't expect her to do half the things she can do - especially the part where she turns herself into a coyote on a regular basis.
But you kinda implied it, Diego. Stop being a dick. Your siblings have all sorts of powers, so do those sparrows, she could be stronger than she looks too.
She reaches down and easily lifts the man up by the shoulders without so much as breaking a sweat, then wiggles the body slightly as though to say "get on with it."
Diego's eyes widen a little, and then he smirks. "Okay, I see you're more capable than I gave you credit for."
He reaches down and grabs the man's legs -- it's not as easy of a lift for him because he's not Luther, but he does train and work out so it's not a struggle either.
Malia resists the urge to comment further and just continues to take the body down to the boiler room. Burning it in the furnace is definitely going to smell, but it'll get rid of the evidence and that's the important thing, right? Once they're out of view, she drops her end to the ground unceremoniously - the man was trying to kill her, so respect for the dead is not something she's leaning on right now - but she'll start going through his pockets for any information she can send back to Scott.
"Is it big enough for us to shove him in there?" She means the furnace. If they need to break down the body things are just going to get messier.
Respect for the dead is silly when they were trying to kill you -- and looking for clues to why he was doing that is just smart. Diego will get to helping with that.
"We might have to cut him down a little first," He admits with a grimace. This is not going to be pretty.
She makes a face, before finishing divesting the hunter of his weapons and phone for someone smarter than her to go through later, probably Stiles. Tossing all of it off to the side, she scans the room for something to catch all the blood.
Even if messy. For once, Diego briefly wishes Klaus was there. He was always weirdly good at this stuff for reasons Diego tried not to think about too much.
It's the smart thing to do, but this hunter has already been such a pain in the ass, she wishes he would stop now that he's dead. If Peter were here, she could probably pawn this off on him. Where is he to be an unwanted father figure when she needs him? She turns her attention back to the body.
"How many sections do you think we'll need to chop him into?"
This is not the kind of knife work he prefers doing, but sometimes bodies need to be got ridden of. And he was the one who killed the hunter, this is his responsibility. He doesn't want more people coming after her because he was sloppy.
She'll help him with positioning the body and slicing it into the appropriate pieces and once the body is burning away, she ... starts stripping down to do burn her clothes because obviously they can't walk back up in blood covered clothes, that would be weird.
So would them walking around naked, but Malia plans to head up to her room on four legs instead of two.
Diego does not have the luxury of walking back in four legs, but he did stash some spare clothes in his bag. He is nothing if not prepared. Especially with those Sparrows around, who knew what trouble they might get in.
Still, he has to strip in front of some woman he doesn't know, he seems fittingly awkward about it.
She snorts in response to the back end, but respects his wishes and turns away. And since his back is also to her, she'll toss her clothes into the fire and toss back over her shoulder.
"Thanks for the hand. I'll see you around."
And before he can turn around and catch her, she shifts into a coyote and begins the process of sneaking her way back up into the hotel to her room.
She turns to face him as he comes up to the bar, and she studies him carefully. He doesn't seem angry or confused. So he's used to the weird shit of the world, but he's calling it a trick and not calling her out for being a shifter.
She just walks away. She doesn't really have a lot of patience for people who are wasting her time. But Diego is a welcome intrusion on her drink, and she shifts as she turns to face him.
Malia blinks, turning back to look at him with a confused furrow in her brows. Superpowers? He thinks she's a girl with superpowers? Maybe that is better from knowing her out the gate as a werecoyote, but that's certainly a broad assumption.
"And what makes you think I'm one of your people?"

"You sure you can handle the other side?"

"I didn't say that."

"It's going to have to be."

"At least three or four."
This is not the kind of knife work he prefers doing, but sometimes bodies need to be got ridden of. And he was the one who killed the hunter, this is his responsibility. He doesn't want more people coming after her because he was sloppy.
That's not something heroes do.

At least she's wearing underwear today.

Malia's never been body shy, and she knows she's hot. People are going to look. But since Diego felt the need to bring it up:
"Do you want me not to look?" If he's the modest type, she can respect it.
no subject
"Yeah, I'd prefer if you didn't. I wouldn't blame you if you wanted to."
Diego might be a little more reserved, but he's also still an ass. Both things can be true at the same.

Did she just --
Well, it's not the weirdest thing he's seen, but it's up there. He'll have to find her again later.
And he does, later when he's in clean clothes and heading to the bar for a drink.
"That was a neat trick."

She turns to face him as he comes up to the bar, and she studies him carefully. He doesn't seem angry or confused. So he's used to the weird shit of the world, but he's calling it a trick and not calling her out for being a shifter.
So maybe not entirely in the loop.
"Makes life easier sometimes."
no subject
Nope. He assumes she's like Lila and is one of the other kids born on the same day as the rest of them and shapeshifting is just her ability.
"I bet. It makes getting away easier, I'm sure."
no subject
She just walks away. She doesn't really have a lot of patience for people who are wasting her time. But Diego is a welcome intrusion on her drink, and she shifts as she turns to face him.
"Looks like you figured things out too."

"Well, you grow up in a family of superpowered heroes and you know how to spot one of your people."
Oh Diego, sweet Diego, you are very wrong on this one. She is not another one of the 1989 children.
no subject
"And what makes you think I'm one of your people?"
no subject
"Well, do you have another explanation?"
He's pretty open minded he's seen a lot....just her being one of his people seemed to make the most sense.
