Sophie nods, because she sometimes wonders that about her and Nate. If even with both of them being single and working together, the magic doesn't quite feel the same. But maybe that's just Nate and the things he's been through.

"That's always a little disappointing, isn't it? Even if you know it's the right thing to do?"

"Sometimes, people need to follow their own paths," Sophie nods. "It's unfortunate, but I think sometimes it's more important to take stock of the ways they helped change us, rather than whether or not we got to keep them."
